Start your adventure early with a scenic morning pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar, as our driver transfers you to the airport for your 7:00 am flight to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the breathtaking landscapes of one of Tanzania’s lesser-known but equally spectacular parks, famed for its open plains, floodplains, and diverse wildlife.
After check-in, embark on a full game drive across the Mikumi floodplain, where the wide-open landscapes offer excellent opportunities to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of other wildlife. The park’s quiet, less-crowded environment allows you to get closer to nature and enjoy a more intimate safari experience.
This short safari is perfect for travelers seeking a quick yet immersive encounter with Tanzanian wildlife. In just a few hours, you’ll explore the heart of Mikumi, experiencing its unique ecosystem and abundant wildlife. Today you'll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and drive to the airport for your flight to Mikumi National Park. Upon arrival, you'll have a game drive till the afternoon. The Mikumi floodplain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. The animals commonly found here include lions, elands, hartebeests, buffalos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, hippos and elephants. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not cause damage to people.
At 3:30 pm, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar at 4:00 pm. Then, you will transfer to your hotel.
